Research Shows Stakeholders Want More From Internal Audit

The latest Global Internal Audit Common Body of Knowledge (CBOK) Stakeholder Study report, Auditing Strategic Risks: Practical Insights from Internal Audit Leaders, reveals that nearly two-thirds (64 percent) of stakeholders want internal audit to take a more active role in strategic risks.

Many chief audit executives (CAEs) are reporting they are making significant progress in how they audit strategic risks by leveraging a broad arrange of approaches. The report specifically focuses on best practices leaders are using to tackle three key areas of strategic risk — cybersecurity, IT projects, and capital projects.

The easy-to-read, 12-page report, which was created through a partnership between Protiviti and the Internal Audit Foundation, also speaks to how audit leaders are working to secure their seat at the decision-making table and add increased value to their organizations.
