Chambers Named to NACD Top 100 List

The Institute of Internal Auditors President and CEO Richard Chambers, CIA, QIAL, CGAP, CCSA, CRMA, is once again recognized by the National Association of Corporate Directors as one of the most influential leaders in corporate governance. A six-time recipient, Chambers will be honored at a special event for the “2019 NACD Directorship 100” in New York.

“Richard is a leader and a leading voice globally in promoting the importance of effective organizational governance,” said IIA Global Chairman Naohiro Mouri, CIA. “Indeed, internal audit plays a critical role. Governance is essential to organizational success and requires an open, trusting relationship among the board, management, and internal audit.”

Chambers has more than four decades of internal audit and association management experience, mostly in leadership positions. The NACD’s recognition adds to an ever-growing list of accomplishments for Chambers, who is marking his 10th year at the helm of The IIA. Accounting Today ranks Chambers as one of the Top 100 Most Influential People shaping the accounting profession.

The NACD Directorship is an annual recognition of leading corporate directors, corporate governance experts, policymakers, and influencers who significantly impact boardroom practices and organizational performance. The Top 100 highlights those who work in public, private, and not-for-profit organizations.
