Chairman’s Video Debuts
Naohiro Mouri was elected 2018-19 Chairman of The Institute of Internal Auditors’ (IIA) Global Board of Directors at The IIA’s annual business meeting in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on May 9. Mouri’s chairman’s video also had its official debut at the meeting.
The video showcases Mouri’s theme, “Emphasize the Basics. Elevate the Standards.” In the video, Mouri emphasizes the basic idea that conformance to the Standards is essential, and not only elevates the Standards but raises the entire profession as well.
“I truly love internal audit, and that is reflected in my passion for the profession,” Mouri said in the video. “There is nothing more important than our Standards. That was true four decades ago when they were first formulated, and it is even more so today when organizations face myriad challenges.”
