The Annual Audit Committee Report – Transform your annual audit committee report from a compliance task into a value driver
Overview:
How does your internal audit function demonstrate its value to the organization? Can you articulate this in a way that is compelling in your annual audit committee report on your activities? Many audit functions are rightly under pressure from both the Board and CEO to increase their contribution to the organization’s success; to drive higher value from the investment made in the audit function. However, many functional leaders often struggle to look beyond the delivery of the audit plan and core assurance activity to identify a wider range of audit ‘value drivers’ which could, if implemented, demonstrate significant extended value.
The Global Internal Audit Standards are clear. Internal Audit Functions must uphold the highest standards of governance and accountability by reporting to the Board on their activities and the value these are bringing to the organization. Drawing on the author’s experience in writing, presenting, and receiving Board reports, this webinar outlines key success factors for increasing internal audit value and delivering impactful Internal Audit Board annual reporting. The course will offer practical tips to elevate your reporting by outlining a framework of internal audit value drivers and outlining how you can report on this value and required wider IIA Standards to the Board. This will include exploring thematic issue development, business unit conclusions, annual opinions, and functional accountability reporting. Additionally, the presenter will outline a model structure for annual reporting and share insights on improving the, often frustrating, Board report production process.
