LAKE MARY, Fla. (September 23, 2020) \u2014 The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA), the internal audit profession\u2019s most widely recognized advocate, educator, and provider of standards, guidance, and certifications, announced today that a formal search for a new President and Chief Executive Officer is underway. The global executive search firm Korn Ferry is conducting the comprehensive search , working with The IIA\u2019s Executive Search Committee, led by IIA Past Global Chairman Mike Joyce, CIA, CRMA.<\/p>\n

Key responsibilities of the position include an ability to effectively communicate and partner with members, affiliates, volunteers and others; ensure advancement of IIA core values including collaboration, courage, and unity in diversity; foster innovation; ensure financial sustainability; and build upon the organization\u2019s 79-year legacy of developing programs and services that substantially advance the profession.<\/p>\n
Chambers, CIA, QIAL, CGAP, CCSA, CRMA, announced that he would be stepping down as President and CEO effective March 31, 2021. Appointed to the dual positions in January 2009, Chambers will be the second-longest serving leader of The IIA since its founding in 1941.<\/p>\n
